How to Increase the Life Span of Your Mattress

There's no denying that mattresses are an investment. From memory foam technology to pocket-sprung mattresses, there are so many to choose from that you must be sure you know what you are purchasing. Did you know that you should change your mattress once every seven years? Many people are sleeping on old, sagging hand-me-down mattresses that are well over the seven-year limit. What you may not know is that this can be harmful for your body and your health. Follow these four tips for mattress care to extend the life of your mattress and create a healthy sleeping environment.

Tip #1: Open with care. When your new mattress arrives, it will likely be wrapped and crated. It is important to open your mattress immediately to allow it to breathe. This is especially true of a memory foam mattress, which has probably been rolled and vacuum-sealed. Once you open your new mattress, give it time to settle before dressing it and sleeping in it. A full day is usually enough time for a mattress to breathe. You also want to check at this time for any imperfections or damages to your mattress during shipping.

Tip #2: Be preventive. One of the best ways to extend the life of your new mattress is to place a mattress pad or cover on it. These pads are usually quite affordable and act to put a layer of protection between you and your new investment. An especially good idea for children's mattresses, a mattress cover protects your purchase from spills, liquids or other accidents.

Tip #3: Let it breathe. As we sleep, moisture tends to build up and settle in our bedding and mattresses. It's a good idea to pull back the bedding each day and let the mattress air out. This way, any moisture build up has the opportunity to evaporate and your mattress will remain unharmed and dry. About twenty minutes of airing is enough to air out your mattress and ward off dust mites that may gather in stuffy bedding.

Tip #4: Follow manufacturer recommendations. Every brand new mattress comes with manufacturer recommendations. This can tell you when to flip your mattress, how to clean it and the amount of time you have under warranty. It may also tell you of any guarantees or sag-warranties that can be very important as years go by. It is crucial to follow all of your new mattress guidelines to ensure that the life of your mattress is extended and you are doing all that you can to create the best night's sleep possible.

 QUESTION:
Mattress Topper or Feather Bed for Memory Foam mattress?
I've got a memory foam mattress that feels somewhat firm even after several months of use. What type of mattress topper or feather bed might work best with a memory foam mattress?

 ANSWER:
Go to the furniture place and try them. There are a bunch of different kinds and you can test them to see what kind you like.

 QUESTION:
Memory foam or regular mattress for platform bed?
I'm looking to buy a platform bed and noticed everyone says to get a memory foam mattress.

Is that because memory foam just feels a WHOLE lot better, or because a regular mattress is uncomfortable on platform beds? In short will it be difficult to sleep with a regular mattress?

 ANSWER:
Well you can get a mattress or a foam mattress. Its your choice. Foam mattresses are expensive and if you want, you can use 1 mattress and buy a foam topper. Toppers are like a mini mattress and you can put it on top of the regular mattress. You can buy the topper at target.

 QUESTION:
Memory Foam mattress or Individually wrapped coil matress?
We currently have a regular bed. All of the coils are connected and the bed sags in certain places. I wake up with back pain everyday. We can get an individually wrapped coil bed with a 20 year warranty or we can get a memory foam bed with a 10 year warranty. Does anyone have any experience with the two different mattress options? Memory foam vs individually wrapped coils?

 ANSWER:
Any bed that has coils will break down, individually wrapped or not. My husband is a chiropractor and he recommends the air matress bed. We have had dozens of patients return the memory foam beds cause one spouse likes it and the other hates it. The air beds have a dual bladder system that allows one person to have their bed soft or firm and the other person can have it just the way they like it. I would recommend the Comfortaire brand. Select (or Sleep) Number beds are double the cost of Comfortaire because of all the advertising that they do. And Comfortaire make an edge to edge air mattress that is really really nice. They have a 20 year guarantee so you can't go wrong.

 QUESTION:
Memory foam mattress with regular foam topper?
I am looking at memory foam beds and have tried the 5.3 lb foam (store). I find it too 'hard' for me. Neither my husband or I are heavy and I didn't event dent the foam. When I tried out the sleep-number bed, I was about a 45 (which is medium soft) but the reviews weren't that great (lots of problems with air leaks, pumps, etc)

I have a local mattress company that will create any type of mattress I want. I was thinking of getting a 4.0 memory foam with a plush 'regular foam' topper. Will this defeat the purpose of the memory foam? I really don't like the 'flat' feel of the memory foam - I prefer a more cushy feeling.... or do you think going with the 5.3 lb (harder) with the regular foam pillowtop would be better.

Again, I don't think I'll like sleeping directly on the foam. I guess my question is, - will a buffer - such as a 'regular' pillowtop defeat the purpose of the memory foam? From what I gather memory foam is really personal - some people really don't like it -
I DID try the mattress at the store (several places). Just too hard for me - don't like the direct memory 'foam' feeling. I notice lots of people using featerbeds over memory foam - but they're too warm. Also people complain about the foam retaining heat.
One more clarification. The 'topper' I'm referring to is a "pillowtop" that would be 'part of the mattress'. It's not separate.

 ANSWER:
Buying a product (and paying extra for this specialty item) and then changing the way it is supposed to work is, indeed, defeating the purpose. I would check out other mattresses and even take the foam topper with you to the store. You are the one that is going to be sleeping on it and paying for it so get what you want/need to be comfortable.

 QUESTION:
What kind of storage platform bed would this seely memory foam mattress fit?
http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Serta-8-inch-King-size-Memory-Foam-Mattress/4107286/product.html

It says it's dimensions are 76 inches wide x 80 inches long x 8 inches deep. I'm only 16 so I have no idea about this kind of stuff. I'm not really smart. But, what platform bed with STORAGE shelves underneath would be the PERFECT size for this mattress?

 ANSWER:
It's a king mattress, so the ONLY thing it will fit is a king platform.

You find the bed!

Floor Mounting

Mounting to the Floor

Some systems require that the unit be drilled into the floor of the room. These are generally systems that rely on spring mechanisms. Mounting a Murphy bed unit into the floor provides grounded stability and truly makes your Murphy bed a fixture in your home, but it is important to note the long-term effects of mounting on your floor. Most floor-mount systems call for a solid mounting surface, requiring any carpeting to be cut away which can permanently damage your floor. In addition to marking your floors, floor mount systems are difficult, if not impossible to move once installed.

The aFalse Floora Option

There are several Murphy bed manufacturers that offer a afalse floora option, where the Murphy bed is attached to a specifically cut piece of plywood, which is then attached to the wall or baseboards. This option is ideal for those who have settled on a Murphy bed requiring floor mounting, but want to preserve the appearance of their flooring.

 QUESTION:
How do these Ikea beds and mattresses work?
okay first of all, what are these things? their called slatted bed bases, what are they for? whats their purpose? and i don't understand are they supposed to bend the mattress or something? how is that possible, i know i sound kind of dumb but well i've never seen that, and do ikea bed frames fit regular mattreses from other stores or do i need to buy one of thiers? here's a link to the bed bases, thanks.

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/range/10376/10635/
I'm talking about the one where it is bend at the tip with a remote, like it's supposed to raise the mattress or something.

 ANSWER:
The wood slats go across you normal, everyday bedframe. The mattress is a spring based mattress. The bottom portion of the mattress is spring loaded. This way you don't need a seperate box spring and regular mattress. Kinda like what is found on a bunk bed. We have two.
Update: I looked at the remote controlled base you are talking about. Yes it will bend the mattress. I would buy a mattress from them that is designed to go with that base. If their mattresses are too expensive, at least call their customer support and see what kind of mattress it is that they suggest use.
Good luck.

 QUESTION:
Im buying a bed from Ikea, do i need to buy 2 slatted bed bases?
I am buying a double bed from Ikea, the slatted bed bases you have to buy to go with it are half the measurement of the bed, the bed is 140x200 and the bases are 70x200, do i need to buy two? or will there be enough slats for both sides?

 ANSWER:
Are you sure you're looking at the right base? They come in different sizes for the different sized beds. The double bed base measurements should be similar to the measurements of the bed.
You may want to ask Ikea's customer service for help in finding the right item.

 QUESTION:
How sturdy are IKEA beds?
I am thinking about getting an IKEA bed. The headboard foot board and bedsides are made of steel and the midbeam is made of galvanized steal, but I have to also buy a slatted bed base which is made of wood, and I don't know how well it will hold up long term. The frame itself is very thin, and doesn't look very sturdy. This link might be helpful.

 ANSWER:
I have an Ikea bed.

For the first couple of months since we got it, it was fine, but after a while, it started to squeak a bit every time I went to lie down on it.

It's really strong, and sturdy.

But then again, I have one of those wood (or "wood") beds, so I'm not sure if a steel one like the one you might get will be as sturdy.

I am very white and get burned very easily in the sun. If I use a tanning bed, would it help me build a tanning base and protect me from burning badly in real sun on my Jamaican vacation?

 ANSWER:
i am very pale also. I've done that a few times when going below the equator. It helped me a lot. Just start out with a very low time, and go up each visit. I am not sure about the whole spray on thing but I am sure either would be better than getting burnt.

im buying a memory foam mattress and 1 says 60kg squared and other says 65kg/3 what does this mean and what 1 is best
the 60kg squared is 4" of memory foam and 6" of polyurathene foam the other 1 is 65kg/3 is 2"of memory foam and 6"of reflex what 1 is best?

 ANSWER:
scottish_susy2000

Density translates to how hard the mattress will feel to you in the sleeping position.

Four inches of memory foam will be more soft as there is more memory foam to absorb the body weight in a more equalizing distribution of absorption.

If you like more firm, then the 2" memory foam would be the choice. I suggest that you test both. Lay on your side for awhile and see if the density allows your spine to achieve a straight line between your hips and shoulders.

There are retailers who will allow one to test their mattresses for like 30 days.

I am 21 years old, no back pains or problems, i am just looking for a very comfortable one, and i don't know the differences between them and why should i get one or another.
Thanks!

 ANSWER:
a High density foam mattress is made of dense polyurathene foam. ( P.U ), high density means it would be a little hard.. and since u dont have a back problems u should not use it.

Spring mattress are mattresses with Spring based & sandwiched between 2 layers of Foam or, Coir so that the mattress gets a springy jumpy effect for more comfort. so it necessarily it has to be thicker

so a high density foam mattress cannot be a sprinng mattress whereas the spring mattress canbe a high density foam mattress.. got it..

so u better buy the spring mattress which is premium & spongy.

 ANSWER:
It's hard to describe how soft something is, as we all have our different definitions of it, especially when it comes to bedding. Best bet,try it out so you know if it is what YOU want.

 QUESTION:
I'm attempting to buy a memory foam mattress and I dont understand the density aspect. I want a soft mattress.?
I already bought a mattress that I am returning because it was too firm. Please tell me how density factors into softness.

 ANSWER:
Softness doesn't depend on density in a simple way. Softness depends on how much weight the foam can withstand. The more weight it can withstand, the more firm. However, density (D) is defined as the mass (M) of an object in grams divided by the volume (V) in cubic centimeters, so the equation looks like this: D=M/V. Find out the volume, which is length X width X height, and the mattress store can tell you it's mass. They'll probably already know the density of the mattresses. Basically, the more mass it has, the more dense. If you compare mattresses that are the same volume, the one that that has less mass is less dense. Weight is usually used as a synonym for mass. You can go to: http://www.bedinabox.com/density_and_softness.php for more info.

 QUESTION:
How to prevent memory foam mattress from sliding on platform bed?
Hello I just recently bought a queen size memory foam mattress that's ten inches thick and a platform bed to go along with it. I like the set up quite a bit but the only problem is that memory foam mattress, being very light, slides around quite easily on the platform bed. I was looking for some suggestions to help remedy that problem without actually changing the design of the platform bed, ex. adding a raised border.

 ANSWER:
Go into your local home depot or lowes and pick up a non slip pad. they're intended for rugs. but can be used underneath a mattress to keep it from sliding off a foundation.

I need to change my bed so I want to try a memory foam mattress as I have arthritic shoulders.
'Which Magazine' gave top rating to 'HealthBeds Memory Flex' mattresseses so thought I would try to get one of these.

Has anyone bought one and can you recommend a good place to buy from?
Also what sort of base did you find most suitable for the mattress?

Thanks in anticipation of any help.

 ANSWER:
I did try a memory foam mattress but it is not from the HealthBeds brand. Memory foam mattress does makes my body feel better and a better night's sleep. http://www.memoryfoammattress101.com have more info about memory foam mattress which may help you.

Any online mattress stores is a good choice to buy your mattress. Tip: choose the store that has a 30 day money back guarantee, just in case you do not like the mattress you bought.

You've seen them on tv. Admit it. You've watched the infomercials. Adjustable beds are all over the place. What once began as an instrument for home health care workers and hospital employees to avoid busting their backs has now blossomed into a business for home use. And the biggest jump in popularity is with a young demographic. Technology over the whole of the country has advanced at a pace that pulls less technology hungry industries, like with beds, along for the ride. The market for beds has been immersed with ever-increasing choices for consumers. There are so many selections from which to select when shopping for a bed.

Bed manufacturers must work hard to differentiate themselves from other companies. The competition has become fierce between companies. Each company wants to show how they are unique from the others. Adjustable beds are engineered from solid steel. This allows them to maintain weight requirements. They are quite sturdy beds. The steel frame also allows additional support for the mattress itself and the headboard as well.

Adjustable beds have personalized themselves to grant users a more comfortable night's sleep. This is in response to consumer demands Another alteration is the addition of wheels to adjustable beds. This enables you to shift and move the bed about with similar ease and without exertion to your back. Most purchasers of adjustable beds are older. Their force is not what it once was. Thus, it's tedious for them to have to shift a 250 pound bed about their room. Other people acquire adjustable beds due to back problems. Thus, huffing a heavy bed is not ideal for them. These modifications have allowed the adjustable bed to acquire footholds with new demographics.

In terms of comfort and expediency, you cannot beat an adjustable bed. The health features are wholly unmatched. Adjustable beds are motorized and tons of folks are having fun with the ease and comfort of the electric motors lifting and lowering the bed. Things like surfing and watching tv in bed are much more comfortable than having to prop yourself up with pillows.

Before long, beds will be doing even more! There will be apps for your smartphone. You'll be privileged to buy a bed that adjusts to you as you slumber. Chronic joint troubles, arthritis, and knee and shoulder issues can be relieved through the use of adjustable beds. This is one of the guiding motivations for owning one. Help from these beds is not restrained to the joints as they can also aid with circulation problems and acid reflux disorder. and stationary positioning of the body inflames these conditions. Adjustable beds help mitigate this significantly.

 QUESTION:
Where can I see a side by side bed comparison?
I remember once finding a picture of a side by side bed mattress comparison and now I can't find it.

Does anyone know of a site that shows beds side by side? I can't get a clear visual on how much difference there is between a full and a queen.

And if I had a picture with all the bed sizes lined up in a shortest to tallest line up then I could picture just how big a bed can fit in a bedroom of a certain size.

 QUESTION:
whats the difference of colour when tanning in tanning beds, or outdoors?
hey! just wondering if tanning beds maybe give a more orange tint then how ud tan naturally outdoors. i know the health risks, just wondering in comparison of the after results. any ideas?

 ANSWER:
Hey! Okay I'm a reformed solarium addict, I've been going for about 4 years now. You are right, there deffinately is a difference in colour between a tanning bed and the natural sun. The tan i get from a solarium bed does have more of an orange tint to it, and I kind of get to a point where my skin wont go any darker. Also a solarium tan fades much faster than a natural tan. All in all, a natural tan looks better, is darker and lasts a lot longer.

 QUESTION:
What do they mean when they say tanning beds are as deadly as arsenic?
Surely downing a glass of arsenic is slightly more deadly than laying in a tanning bed... Are they just using some statistics like overall death tolls to make an inaccurate comparison to make a bold statement?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32187497/ns/health-cancer/

 ANSWER:
Yes!! I think they are trying to drive a very serious point home. I read the same article and it made me nervous at first but I think the biggest risk are for those who started young and did it frequently.

I remember it being pretty cool when I was younger and all the tanning salons would try and sell multiple sessions at a time. You would put a sticker on in the shape of a heart or dolphin, to show just how much of a tan you had gotten.

Wish we would have all known at the time just how dangerous it really was. Maybe those weird eye goggles should have given it away.

Bonus: I've never had a glass of arsenic.

So I think I'm in good shape.

Adjustable beds by their very existence as mechanical marvels of design and function are perfectly adapted to alleviate many different symptoms associated with varied conditions that lead to back pain. If you suffer from lower back pain, your condition may be the result of a multitude of causes, many of which the sufferer has no clue as to how they got them in the first place.

The causes associated with back pain include muscle spasm or sprains, ligament sprains, joint problems or a slipped disk. Actual physical disability from instances such as work related accidents are another well-known cause of back pain. In all these instances, an adjustable bed can help alleviate your sore aching back. Why can an adjustable bed help you? You do not have to take my word for it. I am not a medical expert. But I do know how to quote them.

Through my research, I have found that medical experts advise that the best way to ease back pain is to position yourself with your back on the floor, with pillows under your knees, hips and knees bent, with your feet raised on a chair. Now imagine yourself in that position. Looks rather awkward, doesn't it. Can you imagine doing this every time your back begins to act up? Now imagine yourself, if you can, in an adjustable bed perfectly aligned to provide the same comforting relief. Looks a lot better on an adjustable bed than on the floor, doesn't it

 QUESTION:
When I have my baby boy this year, my daughter will be a 15 months, what kind of bed/crib should I buy?
For my first child, I bought a "Million Dollar Baby" crib (the Emily model), and this is the description:

"Stylish solid pine crib accommodates child from infancy through teen years. Static side, with no moving parts, allows mom to take baby out of crib with little effort. Adjustable 4-level mattress spring system. Includes daybed conversion guard rail, plus full-size headboard and footboard."

Should I go ahead and buy another one like this for my second baby, and just convert the Emily crib I have now into a toddler bed? And when exactly can a baby start sleeping in a toddler bed? I am hoping that as my baby gets older, she might want to snuggle with us in bed and sleep with us. She has definitely not been a cuddly type at all, she hates being hold in bed, it seems as if she thinks she's being held within her will and constrained!

Well, anyway, should I just buy a regular toddler bed for the older baby, or should I just get another crib that converts? What did you do?

Thanks for any and all advice.

 ANSWER:
We put my son in a toddler bed this last december ( he was 20 mo at the time) and then put a baby gate up in his door way so he he couldnt get up in middle of the night and escape through the house LOL . He could have gone to the toddler bed sooner had we had the money to get the toddler bed. He really has done great and he LOVES his big boy bed.

I would just go ahead and get a toddler bed for your older child and save the convertable crib for the baby. You can get a nice and safe toddler bed at walmart. I believe we spent around on the one we got our son and its a nice strong wooden one.

 QUESTION:
Should I buy this Ford 2004 5.4 4X4 Lariat?
I am a little worried about it being a money pit, because the mirrors, power pedals, and drivers seat controls did not seem to work when I test drove it today (at a local Ford dealership). The sales guy said they will see if it is a simple fix. Also, the step bars on the sides are pretty beat up, but I think those are inexpensive to replace.

There are some dings here and there and I am okay with those. The truck will be for handy work and transporting horse feed and supplies. I wanted something better than a beater without getting into debt (as you know these new nice trucks nowadays are 30-50K easy!).

Can these modern Ford engines last long passed 150K Miles? I am looking to trade in my 03 G35 sedan which will cover about 10K of my cost. Should I wait and save more cash? Thanks for any tips.

 ANSWER:
To be fair the F150 is a great truck, the electrical stuff common to start failing if not taken care of. The engines will last no problem, The new transmissions in the F150 are very good as well. I agree that the price for this truck is a bit steep cause of the mileage. It would be wise to buy an extended warranty. I am a Senior Master Tech for a Ford Dealership and I own this truck, Mine has 150,000 miles on it and it has never let me down. Since I am a tech I do not work on it unless it breaks and it has not broke so I never work on it. That's my two cents. Great truck just need to get them to fix the few things and lower the price a bit.

 ANSWER:
I would choose the Brother.

The automatic buttonhole maker is a no-brainer - drop the button in one end, lower a lever and select a couple functions and you have a no-hassle buttonhole.

Is there an authorized dealer in your area where the machine can be taken if adjustments or service is needed?

Most of the decorative stitches and functions (except for straight & zig-zag stitching) are seldom used in day-to-day sewing.

With any new-to-you machine, sit down with the instruction manual next to the machine and go step-by-step through the different functions...........and always remember to thread the machine with the presser foot up!

Beds are significant furniture of home dcor; different types of beds are available in market. Some of the popular variants of beds available in market are single beds, double sized beds, adjustable beds, bunk beds, divan beds etc. Each of these variants has their own series of advantages. Therefore while you are going make a purchase decision of beds you should know some outline advantages of the popular bed variants so that you can correlate your requirement with the suitable variant. While you will be purchasing a bed, it is better to purchase some accessories of bed in accordance to its size; these are bed frames, mattresses, and headboard and footboards etc.

Metal and wooden beds are mostly popular for general use. leather beds are comparatively expensive choice and it requires more intense maintenance in comparison to wood or metal beds. However, with the wide availability of faux leathers nowadays the hindrance for using leather beds because of maintenance has been managed to a larger extent. Faux leather made beds are easy to wash, durable in nature, and look like original leather but available against lesser price value than original leather made beds, which goes on the advantage list of these bed type.

On contrary wooden beds look classy and traditional and add traditional ambience at room dcor plan; metal beds are trendy in look and match well with modern room dcor plans and with light furniture like furnishing of childrens room, decoration of study room or in making sleeping arrangement in guest room area, and so on. Metal beds are mostly available with four wheels and the furniture which may require frequent shift is better suited with metal beds.

The advantage of divan beds is its double advantage; it can be used as sitting couch whereas it can be used for sleeping. Divans are best suitable for living room area and for guest room where the furniture can be used for different purpose but with great quotient of comfort. Divan beds are available both in metal and wooden variants however, wooden divans are also used for in built storage space, which is again a great advantage against space economy plan of modern room dcor.

Bunk style beds are multipurpose beds and are available both in woods and metal; bunk type beds are widely used in children room. It is great space saving option for home planners and is a great fun for the growing kids because with the introduction of bunk style bed set up, he can make his own world. The single sized beds and double beds are quite common in residential use and these beds have their individual space benefits as their advantage features. These beds are to be placed as per the room size and the on use plan of the same.

Adjustable beds are used for bed ridden patients and senior members who face hardship in adjusting their sleeping postures on a flat bed. There are different types of mattresses available; however it is always good to consult the attending physician once before purchasing an adjustable type bed for your beloved senior member of the house.

We offer the best quality at affordable pricing for our valued customers. We'll help you find the right product to help you lower the effects of allergens with bedding that will form a barrier between you and the source. Effectively stop irritants from reaching you with bedding that blocks these allergy causing agents right at the start.

Difference in Blocking Agents

Allergy suffers everywhere should know the benefits of the different kinds of agents used to block bed bugs. Membrane and non-membrane mattress covers are available. Both claim to serve the same purpose. But which is more effective? A bed bug cover that has no membrane is still porous and susceptible to moisture, air and allergens. These kinds of products are not as effective in eliminating irritants. Bedding that has a thin membrane blocks anything from getting in or out of the layer it encompasses. These are better protectants overall if you are looking for sure protection.

 QUESTION:
How many people are truly disgusted with the non cleaning of hotel beds, pillows, cases and blankets?
I truly wonder if hotels actually clean, wash (at high killing virus and bacteria washing temperatures) the beds sheets, pillow cases and the actual pillow? Something tells me that hotels now days are disease laden flop houses for diseases waiting to happen. I know being overly dramatic is not the best way to ask a question. I am a little too embarrassed to walk up the hotel counter and say, "Ah, excuse me, but before I take the room, do you wash the bed linnen? NOt sure I would ask anyone at the Hilton Hotels or other 5 stars, but..hey...a hotel is a hotel, when you get down to it.

 ANSWER:
hotel beds are disguisting, i stayed at a hotel all last week, the first night we found bugs in the comforter on one of the beds. they gave us that night free and gave us a new comforter. thats why i bring my own pillow and a sleeping bag.

 QUESTION:
How do you make bed pillows look good?
In magazines and photos beds look amazing, neatly folded sheets and blankets and immaculate pillows. But when I look at my pillows, I see the cases haphazardly strewn about, tapering off the end of the pillows and not looking neat or attractive in the slightest bit. Is there a trick to making the pillowcases stay on the pillows nice and neatly?

 ANSWER:
I hate that! But all I have found to work is to put the ones you use at night away during the day. Just have the pillow shams on the bed when you make it. I know in hotels they take the open end of the case and fold it in and tuck it under. Sort of making them square and set them up instead of laying them flat. This works if the sheets are crisp and new for a while but still does not have the same appeal as a made bed.

Also shams seem to hold up longer even when being used to lounge on the bed. But as to sleeping on at night not so great.

 QUESTION:
Why do the cheap memory foam beds and pillows have a odor?
I bought both in the past, and had to return them because I couldn't sleep from the weird smell that came off of them, kinda like a burning plastic or glue smell. My real question I guess is does that smell ever fade away,? because I still really want one.

 ANSWER:
I know what you mean, I ended up buying the more expensive name brand.

We (my wife and I) had a cheap memory foam mattress topper and that odour just would not go away. The cheap topper was on our bed for over a month and we couldn't stand it anymore and we tossed it out.

 QUESTION:
How do I clean Bed pillows?
I need to clean pillows. How do I clean them without them losing their shape and fluffiness?
I don't want to buy new ones, as these are not that old. I do need to freshen them up a bit. I have put them in the dryer with a dryer sheet, but, that doesn't quite do what I want. Please help! Thanks in advance!!
The pillows are made of a synthetic polyfil.

 ANSWER:
Well what are the pillows made of..? Are they feather? Or a synthetic polyfill? If they are synthetic or polyfill... you can wash them in the washing maching on gentle cycle using gentle detergent like WOOLITE I would also add 1 cup of baking soda to the wash water.. Maybe wash with acouple towels to fill the entire load... Tumble dry with acouple clean/new tennis balls to fluff....

One of the fascinations of life is to look at idioms. More often than not, they capture wisdom in just a few brief words. Take the title to this article. Literally, it means you are prepared to commit a crime to pay off a debt but it shows a more general circularity. If you borrowed from Peter to repay Paul, you would still be in debt. You would be no better off. In fact, you might be worse off if Peter charged a higher rate of interest than Paul. Except, there might be times when the robbery brings you out ahead of the game. Where you could get away with the "crime" and at least be no worse off. In some cases, you might even be better off. Let's go back a few brief months to a press conference called by President Obama. He was pressing on with his campaign pledge to reform the healthcare industry and he wanted to give the various players a chance to show they were on his side. In this case, the moguls from the pharmaceutical industry made a pledge in support of reform. They were prepared to make cuts of billion a year in the price of drugs sold to the people of America. Put another way. If the premium rates you pay for health insurance are to fall, the cost of drugs and services also have to fall. That way the insurers still make their profit, but you get the same drugs and services at a lower price. Now, if you were sitting in the board rooms of the drug companies, what would you be thinking? To avoid being humiliated and made to look really bad on national television, you have to pony up billion in cuts next year. What will your stockholders say when you report seriously reduced profits and no dividends? They will not be happy bunnies. So you decide to raise prices this year. That way, when you cut them next year, you are no worse off. Perhaps no-one will notice. Well, industry watchers have noticed. The wholesale prices of branded drugs have been raised by an average of 9% since the start of this year. This at a time when the Consumer Price Index has actually been falling. This at a time when the prices of the generic drugs have been falling because of price competition. The result is a new record. Experts believe the total price paid by you for drugs next years will be more than 0 billion. Assuming, of course, you do not buy your drugs from trusted online pharmacies at prices well below the usual wholesale prices paid by your neighborhood drug store. In one sense, this should not affect you. This article is written for people with an interest in ambien and, in our most rational moments, we all admit the best cure for insomnia is cognitive behavioral therapy. Except that is not always available in your area or affordable. So millions depend on this drug to get us to sleep and to keep us asleep until dawn. As the cost of branded drugs rises faster than ever, you are the ones standing in for Peter and your money is being used to pay the stockholders like Paul when President Obama gets his cuts. Remember that the next time you buy ambien online and save money.
